This update will be short and sweet, because I want to get back to it. Why, you ask? Aren’t you a writer? Destined to fill page upon insufferable page with useless fantasies and bland dialogue? Well, yes…

Christmas is only a day away. Ready or not, the presents should be wrapped, the seventh trip to the grocery store completed, and the house cleaned (mostly). Snow for Christmas? Well, for many of us, that’s an understatement.
Hopefully the stress of the season doesn’t get you too down. With all of the effort to make the season perfect, we can often overlook the need to pause and reflect on what truly matters. We’ve all heard it before, that Christmas should be a time for rest, quality time with family, and a reflection of what the Creator God did for his people…

Bring on the turkey! I’m ready for a full day of eating all the fixin’s, and then groaning about it later. Hey, there’s antacid for that, right? This month I decided to participate in NaNoWriMo. That is, National Novel Writing Month. Of course my wife Stacy talked me into it, and upon much protest, I […]

My fingers are on the keyboard, but they aren’t moving. No tapping is heard from the keys. There are other things on my mind than writing. What things you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. It seems–this world has gone crazy. Uncertainty and fear are at all-time highs on the crazy-meter, and it appears some people […]

Okay, I have to admit, I love Fall the best. Call me basic, but I can literally eat anything made out of pumpkin. Pumpkin doughnuts, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pancakes… And of course, pumpkin spice lattes. My favorite thing about Fall, however, is when the cooler weather starts to move in. We are back in the bus again. Finally! After a whirlwind summer, including the amazing 2022 Realm Makers conference in New Jersey, we are settling back into a work routine. Let’s talk about this past month… So aside from the fact that I totally skipped out on June’s update and newsletter, I was able to accomplish much the past several weeks. Not only were Stacy and I able to design, edit, and publish the first ever Creative Companion Workbook, The Watcher Key Light Training Manual, […]

Are you done with your new series yet? Are you done with your new series yet? “No. I’m not,” I respond while casting a wary eye at my wife. She knows that when I finally say that I am ready, she will have a mountain of work ahead of her, formatting, designing, ePub’ing (Yeah, I […]

“Seriously, what do you need now?” Poke, poke. I feel the tap on my shoulder. “Can you help me with something?” Stacy says for the fifth time that day. “Of course, dear. What do you need?” I say with absolutely zero sarcasm at all. “I’m hungry.” I do my best not to show my annoyance, […]

Today I am hailing from Full Circle Coffee in our hometown of Byron Center, Michigan. In many ways, Full Circle has become our second office. When a change of scene is needed, or I need to be reminded that there are other people that live in the frozen north, I come here. Join me for […]
